Dr. Dimitris Psiakidis MD, PhD
Dr. Dimitris Psiakidis was born in Kavala on September 7, 1975. Since his childhood, he set the goal of pursuing medicine, with his love for people and the medical art being the main criteria for this choice. After completing school, he began his studies at the Higher Medical Institute of Plovdiv in Bulgaria, specializing in Medicine.
During his studies, specifically in his fourth year, he became actively involved in the scientific work of the university, organizing scientific conferences with a group of colleagues. At the same time, he began working on his thesis, focusing on “family planning.” In 2000, he graduated, having published two articles in European scientific journals and participated in two conferences (the 2nd and 3rd Balkan Conferences), in which he also played an active role in their organization. He continued working voluntarily at the university, where he obtained his first specialization in “Social Medicine and Medical Management” in 2005. That same year, he was awarded his PhD.
His longing for his homeland led him to return and choose the specialization of General Medicine, with the ultimate goal of working in his hometown, Thassos.
In 2006, he began his specialization and in 2010, he obtained the title of General Medicine Specialist. During this period, he continued his scientific work with active participation in conferences and seminars, and also participated in the active on-call program and the scientific work of the ICU of the General Hospital of Kavala during the years of his specialization. From January 4, 2011, to August 2013, he worked as a Senior Physician at the Primary Health Care Center in Prinos. During this time, he also participated in the scientific work of his specialty at the local and national level, focusing on chronic pain, smoking cessation, basic ultrasound principles, hypertension, diabetes, ATLS, and many others.
In October 2013, he started his private practice by opening a private clinic in Prinos, his hometown, as he believed that this way he could provide more to the local community. A month later, he opened a second clinic in the village of Kallirachi, and two years later, he opened a clinic in the capital of the island due to demand from the local community. On June 9, 2014, he completed his training in Medical Acupuncture and followed up with training in mesotherapy. On May 19, 2015, he received certification for training in the use of Botox, Hyaluronic acid, and threads for aesthetic purposes. Since 2019, he has been a regular member of the Homeopathic Society of Greece after successfully completing his studies, and in October 2022, he attended a refresher course on Botox.
Since 1998, he has been a member of scientific interest societies and continues to receive education with the sole goal of improving his treatments to address medical conditions and provide better healthcare services to his patients.
